Some would say I'm perceptive
I would say it's all subjective,
but the world can be deceptive,
Desensitised to disasters in news reports, repetitive
There is no authenticity in media
Their misinformation less reliable then Wikipedia
My sister once told me, if you read various newspapers
From the same date, they've all said
Enormously varying estimate on the number of dead,
on financial facts and figures, depending on political affiliation,
varying views divided further by lies and this poor decision,
by the editor, so I says to her,
"Editor, why can't you make stories of importance?
Instead scale down ID controversy,
tucked away under 2 for 1 at Thorntons, (anyways)
Don't you think this celebrity and,
fame obsessed culture
makes of us, ruthless vultures,
competitive businessmen
comparing big ego's again.
Where are all the people, editor,
where are all the people, who want
some truth or factual observation"
I want to teach but I reckon I can be
heard better on the station,
the radio station, or the playstation,
one day watched by many with mic and camera,
making us all stars at home, but
it no longer matters, if
there's a star in your eye, or your heart,
or your mind, only appreciated by people like me,
people like you with potential make me pleased,
I don't want to be the only rebellious brother out there,
Is there life out there? Can you hear me, or do you not care
About the state of the world in which humanity has wove its history
we all have an undeniable responsibility to it, it seems to me
if it had been another asteroid, life would have ceased to be
So you owe the earth and our likeminded thinkers and movers,
I can't believe we've been conditioned, sit back and observe these ill doers,
I'm sorry I gotta make moves, and be gone,
But in the coming hardship remember my words and be strong,
Please don't walk away and carry on
not being a Vigilant Citizen I want there to be a point to this poem.
